San Diego Tourist Attractions

This article is dedicated to my second visit of this beautiful city because all San Diego tourist attractions are not possible to cover in one go – they are that vast! As from my first visit’s experience, I could make out that this family-friendly city has something to offer for each visitor irrespective of his or her likes. In fact, San Diego tourist attractions are some of the most alluring ones in the province, as they all are quite enjoyable. Further, what augments your joy is the ideal climatic condition throughout the year. So, this time I planned to visit some of most amazing San Diego tourist attractions that were equally tough for me to decide as they all are great in their own sense.

My Trip

I came here with my family and so our first choice was full of excitement at the Legoland California. It is first LEGO-themed water park on the planet offering wet-and-wild climbing slides, a six-person raft vessel, tube slides, body slides, a lazy river, interactive toddler zones, and a zone for kids to tailor their own LEGO rafts. In short, there are some 50 rides, shows, pristine beaches, golf courses, aquariums, cruises, and museums. Kindly note that the admission fees for the LEGOLAND and water park are different.

For some beach fun, we reached to the magnificent La Jolla Shores besides the La Jolla Pier. The site is the home to the long, but quiet stretch of the beach famous for the smallest waves in the city. So, it is safe to come with children here and spend some time on its plenty sand. However, be careful for the rip currents that can be harmful even while the sea is not turbulent. Therefore, swim where a life guard is present. Further, do not forget to have a spectacular vista of the La Jolla Village located on a raised point in the south as a posh residential zone.

The Pacific Beach is another good beach for its long stretch and fine sands. Many tourists come here and so the beach is never seen empty. But, no matter how many people are there, you can still find your own place to enjoy or relax. The restaurants, shops, and residential structures simply add to its beauty. Bear in mind that parking can become somewhat tough here.

One more favorite beach is the Point Loma at the tip of a long and undulating cape. However, the shore is quite magnificent, but the rockiness takes away all the safety and fun of swimming. So, what you can do here is to have a long walk or go for tide pooling. Check out for the Cabrillo National Monument at the end for some great views of the city including the downtown and the adjoining areas. Even though you are just 3 miles away from the downtown, you are blessed to be in the tranquil atmosphere.

The San Diego Harbor Cruise Boat trip is the one that you will never want to miss. Explore its nautical legacy and some of the best views of the city away from the busy city life on this one or two hour amidst the sea experience. Spot some of the ships or sea lions lying besides. The boats begin from the waterfront besides the ship terminal on Harbor Boulevard. In an hour ticket, the trip is towards the Point Loma or passes the Coronado Bridge, the Navy Seals Training Base, and ships of the Pacific Fleet. Both are quite interesting but I cannot say which one you will like the more. Also, between the tickets of one and two hour, there is not much difference.

On Sundays, I suggest to go for a supper cruise. Or else, be on the San Diego harbor cruise on a Wednesday afternoon when a myriad of local sailboats are awaiting to be the part of the beer can races. No matter at what time and day you go, do carry warm clothing for the trip as the climate is always colder here. Even if the weather is warm, fog will never fail to accumulate resulting in a quick fall in the temperature. Also, do take sunscreen, water, and some medium through which you can bind your hat in case of the powerful wind. The ideal way to reach the dock is via the San Diego Trolley to Santa Fe Depot and then ambling until it to be free from any traffic and parking problems.
